The idea for Same Same & Different was born from a discussion with performer Olivier Normand. When we started to work, we were both asked to do ‘replacements’, to walk in someone else’s shoes. And to face the fear of being replaced one day... I gave my colleagues the possibility to take a place in the creation, to suggest materials, to join in the proposals of others. Same Same & Different is built like a cadavre exquis, in unlikely and original combinations. Reality is blurred, erased in the flow of options, immediately replaced by something else. Questions arise: How is an idea born? What do we do in a theatre? What are we expecting? We are taken on a stroll, a maze, an imaginary hall of mirrors.
